Planning a James Bond Themed Birthday in London

Glamour, girls, and action-packed entertainment are just a few things that signify the exciting world of Bond. James Bond is a fictional character, who has been screened on twenty-three films. Everyone loves the style and action of this British secret agent.

Your guests will surely love playing this action-boy character. So, why not plan to host a James Bond-themed party for your coming birthday. Here are some of the ideas that will help you to give your birthday with a Bond twist.

When it comes to setting the mood for your party, themed invitations are the best things to start with. Your invitations should excite the guests about the theme. But, it doesn’t mean that you have to opt for expensive options, a simple bond-themed invitation can be created on a white or black paper at a very low cost. You can also write a cryptic or interesting message like, ‘Attention Agents! There is a Special Meeting on XY date at ABC venue. This kind of messages will add extra style to your invitations.

Don’t forget to write about the attire instructions, such as ‘Wear a Black Suit with Black Tie’. Use a manila envelope to enclose your invitation, as it has already used in the film. For more desired look, you can stamp the cover “Top Secret” or “Confidential” with red ink.

Elegant tuxedos, white dinner jacket, and three piece suit with matching shoes, what else do you need to dress like a Bond? These are some of the most obvious choices for men who want to dress to fit the theme. If you don’t want your birthday venue to look like a space full of penguin suits, then give some suggestions to your guests. Besides this, Money penny’s costumes and Vesper Lynd’s iconic black gown are perfect options for girls.

Do you want to modify your birthday party venue into the ultimate 007 set? No worries, London brings up a host of venues that offer everything from antique martini glasses and delicate low level lighting, to lavish oversized props and settings.
No matter how hard you try to decorate the venue, you will still miss some of the elements of this theme. But, some of the important things are easy to add and are sure to give an action-packed Bond touch. Martini glasses, a roulette table, and giant playing cards are some of the perfect things to set a bond backdrop. If you want to include something a little less obvious, you can create a dramatic scene from a movie, like Skyfall or Casino Royale.

The key is just to ensure that the vodka martinis are shaken, not stirred, exactly in the Bond style. If you think that martinis are a little expensive, then you can also serve sparkling wines – most party guests won’t become aware of the difference. Don’t forget to use martini glasses, even if you are only serving sparkling cider or any other beverage.

Right from the invitations and costumes to beverages and decorations, all portray the thrilling world of James Bond. Pick an ideal venue in London and arrange all the above elements for hosting a perfect James Bond theme birthday.

Wedding Themes for Spring in London

With new buds on the trees and the first flower shoots, spring marks a new beginning, the best time to begin the biggest adventure of your life – wedding. It’s a beautiful time of the year to get married. Think about your favourite part of the season; is it the dying snow of March, budding flowers of April, or emerging sunshine of May? Whatever you want, a theme can really help make your wedding stand apart. After all, getting married in spring doesn’t means you have to restrict your imagination to a colour scheme. With these creative wedding themes for spring, you can take it a step further.
Wedding Colours
Spring is the time when the atmosphere fills with lots of colours. It’s the blooming time but the fruits and flower are not ripened yet. So don’t confuse spring colours with summers’. Keep orange, lime green, aqua blue, and red for June weddings. You can opt for pastel shades like placid blue, sage green, hemlock, and sand. If you’re planning an al fresco wedding, nature will provide you with all these pastel shades which you can pair with bright shades like fuchsia pink and Celosia Orange. Pastel yellow with rose pink, radiant orchid with celosia orange, pastel green with fuchsia, and placid blue with ivory are a few nice colour combos you can use.
Pastel Pink
Pink represents love, compassion, and nurturing which is why works well with spring weddings. Pale pink adds a certain romance to the big day without making it look clumsy. Pair pale pink candles and silver candelabras with ivory white tablecloth to set a romantic tone. Express the same tone in many shades and patterns to create the right effect. Use wine berry silk chair sashes and pair them with pearl cream cushions. The most glamorous centrepieces would be long clear glass vases filled with a spectrum of pink flowers like garden roses, nerine lilies, dahlias, and sweet peas.

Place Japanese fabric fans with flower patterns beside off-white napkins. To bring the spring swing inside, glue little paper butterflies on the rims of Champagne glasses only to let the guests find their seats. To add a burst of colour, pompoms can be a chic and cheap alternative to grand chandeliers. Make sure to indulge the sweet tooth of guests with pastel pink cake festooned with flirty pink macaroons reflecting a French connection. And don’t forget to carry a dreamy bouquet of dramatic pink French garden roses with vine tumbling between them.
Victorian Garden
Victorian Garden is an elegant theme for springtime that gives a timeless feel to your D Day. Victorian gardens were an emblem of abundance, wealth, neatness, and charm. You’ll find plenty of modern green spaces to hire but some offer the same features that a Victorian Garden should have like the Garden at Haberdasher’s Hall. It’s quite well-maintained and manicured. Once you’ve chosen a venue, it’s time to tailor your wedding details to match the theme. Spring colours that were popular in that era are of course pink, aqua blue, ivory, and gold.

Whether it’s your dress, chair sashes, cushion covers, curtains, or tablecloth, look for rich fabrics like silk, linen, and lace. A corset wedding dress with a heavy silk skirt will make you look gorgeous. A Chinese lace parasol will complete your Victorian wedding look. Vintage bone china with Victorian tea roses will be a nice addition to your wedding tables. To create a wow-worthy look, you can suspend floral chandeliers with strands of pearls from the ceiling.
Awesome Cherry Blossoms
Cherry blossoms burst forth every spring and have a charm that’s individual to them. A park filled with these sweet blooms crowning cherry trees will set a breath-taking backdrop. However, if such a garden is not available in your area, don’t worry, as you don’t have to go to Japan. A few details will help you set a similar ambience. Use cherry blossom motif and design on your invitations and incorporate Japanese wording too. Pink, white, and black will work perfectly as your theme colours. For centrepieces, you can use Tall cylindrical vases with cherry blossom branches and pink candles floating in the water. Get a sheer white cake with cherry blossom branches spread around it. Get creative with your drinks by serving pink champagne or cherry cocktails.
Springtime Lovebirds
You’ve finally found the love of your life and what can be better than celebrating it with a lovebirds theme. Let the love birds too revel in your union during the springtime. Incorporate bird patterns and silhouettes into your wedding stationary like invitation cards and place cards. For wow-worthy tablescape, place birdhouses with flowers to make centrepieces. You can also look for faux bird nests with two eggs for impressive centrepieces. For lovebirds theme, some impressive colour combinations include sage green with ivory, Tiffany blue with white or brown, and rose pink with greyed jade. For a bird-themed send-off, you can fill bird nests with Jordan almonds in your wedding palette. It’s a themed, budget-friendly, and easy option for wedding favours.
Easter Wedding
After Christmas, Easter is the first public holiday and stands for rebirth and renewal, which echoes the idea of a couple springing a new life together. It is understood that Easter allows you to use as many pastels as you want and mix them up with white to create a perfect balance. And you can find many DIY décor and other wedding details easily to theme off the wedding. Go beyond the colourful eggs and try pink rabbit centrepieces, chocolate Easter egg favours, wooden hanging decorations, and of course, pretty flower baskets.

You can line the aisle with shepherd’s hooks and hang flower baskets from them. Create an egg box table plan to help guests find their seat. And when it comes to flowers, the obvious choice is Daffodils that are easily available, quite affordable and are in abundance during this time of the year. You can create a little rustic look with flowers in jam jars, old champagne bottles, or vintage milk jugs as well.

After summer, spring is the best time to get married, although London brides have to keep the fluctuating weather in mind and look for a perfect balance of indoor and outdoor venue. If you want to make a statement on your wedding, make sure to consider these themes to plan a spring wedding with a twist.

Ideas for Your Spring Fling in London

When the spring is in full swing, it means only one thing that it’s party time! And spring is welcomed in London like a king returning from the war, THE COLD WAR. Now that New Year festivities are over, it’s just the right time to start planning for a hearty spring party. So whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or a reunion, let the party planner in you blossom. And to make sure that you don’t end up as a haphazard host, here are a few ideas to help you pull together a blowout bash.
Many party purists still believe that print is best but if you’re not one of them, e-invites are also quite a good option. You’ll save a lot of paper, postage cost, and there’s nothing wrong in doing your bit for Mother Nature. Spring parties mean you need to keep the vacation schedule of kids in mind. If you don’t have much space, don’t feel guilty of skipping a few guests. You don’t need to invite everyone and anyone. Stop fretting and skip the plus-one. Follow this rule especially if you’ve never interacted with their date or partner. Besides, use proper wording to get the recipients excited to join your bash. Here’s the wording that’ll evoke your theme.

Let’s have fun and soak up the sun!

Spring has sprung! Let’s rejoice!
You party to take a break from the daily chores and your backyard may not be the right place to do it. If you agree, consider renting a space. You can find many outdoor venues in London to choose from but keep one thing in mind. Weather in spring keeps fluctuating, especially in London. And there are high chances of a rain shower. Look for a venue that offers an indoor option like a marquee or a hall along with the garden so if the weather turns fowl, the party still continues. For making an online venue enquiry, please visit us here.
Games and Activities

For Kids

Kids love to be a part of scavenger hunts. Make a list of items to hide at different places within the venue and ask kids to find them. To make things easy for them, give them hints. Kites, bubbles, and side walk chalk are a few prizes that’ll get the winners excited.

For Teenagers
Two of the most fun outdoor party games for teenagers are no doubt, potato sacks and two legged race. Both are quite easy and fun. All you need to do is arrange sacks and ties as per the number of guests. Draw the start and finish line and award the winners.

For Adults
This is quite a fun game as all you need is two oranges. Divide guests in two teams and give the first person of each team an orange, and ask him to place the orange between his neck and chin. Once you say “Go”, the adult will pass the orange to the next person without using hands. The team that gets the orange at the end of the line first, wins the game.
DIY Décor
If you’re hosting the party in a garden or backyard, the natural elements are enough for the décor. Although make sure to choose your colours wisely when purchasing or hiring party supplies. Yellow, pink, lavender, sage green, orange, and lime are the colours of the day. But don’t make it a flashy sight. Pair two pastel colours with one bright colour that pops. Too many colours look clumsy and are too much for the eyes. For added ambience, you can use flowers in the décor like sunflowers in the birdhouses. You can even display fruits of the season in glass bowls to make wonderful centrepieces. Make sure to match your cake to the theme colour and also your signature cocktails. But limit the matching to these two items, as a whole lime coloured menu will not appeal to guests.

If you’re hosting the party in the evening, make sure to use proper lighting and in spring, possibilities are endless. The cheapest option is to use your holiday lights.Wrap them around trees, string them along fences, and even place them in tall glass vases to make extraordinary centrepieces.
Other accents you can use to spice up the décor are coloured paper lanterns, candles, tissue paper flowers, and pompoms.
Delicious Drinks
Any spring soiree can come to life if right cocktails are served. Spring cocktails have some seasonal ingredients that make them even more refreshing. Here are a few recipes to indulge the taste buds of guests.

Strawberry Mojito
Mix up simple syrup, strawberries and mint together in a 10-12 oz. glass. Add rum, soda, lime juice, and ice to it and mix well.

Lemon Basil Martini
Mix 2-3 pieces of lemon with basil leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add 1/2 oz. syrup in it, sir well and then add crushed ice and shake. Strain the blend into a martini glass and serve.

Mint Julep
Muddle syrup, mint, and water in a low-ball glass with a ladle. Add bourbon and fill the goblet with crumpled ice.

Grapefruit Margarita
Mix and stir tequila, lime juice, orange liquor, club soda, sugar, and grapefruit juice in an 8 oz. glass and serve.

White Sangaria
Mix cognac, chopped mangoes, oranges, sugar, and peach schnapps in a jug. Refrigerate for an hour and then add ginger ale and white wine before serving.

  • Consider offering an afternoon picnic style party. Your guests will love it after the shady cold months! But make sure that the garden is not watered that day and offer waterproof mattress covers along with comfy cushions.
  • Make sure to get the lawn sprayed with nontoxic spray two hours before the event. Also, make a separate station to place blankets, bug sprays, and lotions that guests can use. Place insect repellent candles through the yard will also help.
  • Given the unpredictable weather, keep the canopies and portable heaters at hand.
  • Place food at different mini stations around the venue as it will help people avoid queuing and get them moving around. You don’t want all your guests to sit, do you?
  • Keep the rule of two in mind to make things easy. Two lines of guests each side, two serving spoons for each dish, and two sets of utensils at each end of the buffet table.

Welcome the blossoming spring season with a bang this year! Make sure to follow these ideas when planning a spring fling in London.

Do’s and Don’ts When Planning a Wedding Reception

Your wedding reception can be one of the glowing moments of your life. But to do that, you need to plan everything exactly how it’s supposed to be. Whether you dream of saying I DO barefoot on the beach or jetting off for a private and romantic reception, you and your partner don’t need to worry about the party at that time.

Simply pay attention to these do’s and don’ts that will help you to plan a super fun and enjoyable evening. These things will ensure that you will have nothing to anxious about when it comes time to kiss your gorgeous bride.

Do: Be on Time
No matter whether you are a close friend or just a distant relative, you should be on time. Reach the venue at least 20 to 30 minutes before the ceremony, as your presence can bless the event.

Do: Hire an Event Planner
It is true that many budget-conscious lovebirds don’t hire wedding planners, but you may determine that the nominal charge of a planner is worth the stress you’ll avoid. An event planner can help you to make the most of your budget. Prior making a decision that you want an independent wedding planner, though, don’t forget to ask whether your wedding venue offers on-site coordinators. If the venue offers the event planning services, then you will be able to save a great deal of money.
Do: Arrange Fun Reception Activities
Entertainment is a key to an amazing reception. Games are a good source for entertainment and should be mandatory for all. Hula-hoops, giant chess, and tug of war are some of the fun games that can make your reception ceremony more special.

Do: Wear What You Want to Wear
Some brides stick to a decision to wear a vintage gown, while the smart ones pick the wedding dress according to their body shape. Every bride only gets one opportunity to wear the dress of her dreams, so it’s okay to do it.

Do: Meet and Greet Every Guest
Make sure all your guests enjoy your wedding day. Greet everyone and make him or her comfortable. If you are a little nervous what to say, then why not choose some pick up lines. Some of the few examples are “Good to see you”, “Thanks for Coming”, and “Your Presence Fills this Place”.

Do: Get Married in London
Many lovebirds feel, “This will be simple, we’ll go to London”. Historic wedding halls, quirky reception venues, and riverside spaces will surely make your reception special. All these spaces are set-up under a one-stop-shop system where you will get everything from food to the photographer. All you need to do is to get married and enjoy a romantic time with your best mate.

Don’t Forget to Read the Terms and Conditions
Don’t sign any contract without reading it carefully. Many event coordinators will show a primrose path and freak you out with the unexpected bills later. So, avoid getting yourself into a debt through hidden terms and conditions.
Don’t Forget to Switch off your iPhone
Your iPhone can swing the whole mood with a random ringtone outburst of “I’m friends with the monster”. Whether you are a special guest or a close friend, don’t spoil the couple’s wedding day by interrupting their vows with Rihanna or Taylor Swift.

Don’t be Anxious about Having an Open Bar
It is true that guests don’t drink like a fish when it comes to wedding receptions. So, get relaxed about having an open bar.

Make the most of these do’s and don’ts to plan an unforgettable wedding reception. Most significantly, smile because you just tied the knot with your love!

Vow Renewal Ideas – We Still Do

Staying together for so many years deserves a celebration too! When half of all the matrimonies end in divorce, shouldn’t those who’re able to make it to the last be rewarded with a heartfelt party? And there are ample reasons for a do-over. You’ve reached a decadal milestone which deserves a well-earned recommitment and celebration. Your wedding was not as fairylike as you wanted so now is the chance to live it up. May be you eloped the first time and now you want to celebrate it with friends and family. And lastly your relationship has stood the test of time and this is the time to rediscover your love for each other. Whatever may be the reason, a vow renewal ceremony can really spark up romance in your life and here’s how.

It’s More Relaxed
Literally, sky is the limit! It doesn’t have to be recognized by church or civil authority so you can really take it up a notch. Ask your child to act as officiant, do it at an Island, skip the bachelor party, and write your own vows;no wedding rules will apply to you. So this time around, you can really make your dream wedding come true and make it as unique as you want. Besides, this time you can shop, plan, and schedule together without parental interference.
Skip Some Rituals, Repeat Others, and Add New
Colin Cowie recently planned his vow renewal ceremony and did the same. Some traditions had to be repeated like the first dance since that would be a romantic reminder of the original one. Re-enacting the same dance on the same melody can be really romantic. However, some rituals can be skipped like father-daughter dance. And some brand new traditions can be incorporated involving your children. Reliving the same magical moments will definitely help you rejuvenate your love and feelings for each other.

Creative Dress Code
If you’re lucky enough to fit into your original bridal gown and tux, nothing is better than that. Just go for it! However, if you don’t want to wear the same old white dress, you can always choose something offbeat. From a red hot evening gown to a fitted tea length prom dress, whatever fancies your eyes, don’t give it a second thought. Just don’t wear the veil– first time was enough.
New Vows for the Renewal
You’ve grown older and understand each other better than when you got married. This is the time to voice out your love and respect for each other through writing your own vows. Or you can mix it up. It would be nice to recall the same things you said for the first time as well as add your own new vows to it that will add a personal touch and sound very romantic indeed. And of course, along with the vows, it’s time to upgrade your rings. Or you can exchange a pedant, cufflinks, or bracelets to show your love for each other.

Where to Renew Vows
It’s not the celebration of your coming together, rather it’s the celebration of your living together for such a long time. You can literally celebrate it anywhere, in your backyard without the pomp and show or even in the church if you want to make your promise in front of God as you did earlier.

Vow renewal ceremony is a fresh start to your married life; why not host it in the freshest of surroundings outdoors like a garden or a park. It will definitely make the moment more whimsical. All you need is a garden, the arch, the aisle runner, and a few chairs. To add to the magic, give out coloured Chinese parasols to your guests to let them enjoy the moment in shade. And make sure to have a back-up plan like a marquee so if the weather turns fowl, the celebration still continues.
Church Ceremony
If you’re religious person, you can have a meaningful religious wedding ceremony at the regular church or gothic cathedral in London you’ve always admired. If you’re religious, it is likely that you want to make the promise in front of Holiness. And if you just got married in the registry office, it’s the best time to have a wedding that you’ve always dreamt of. After all, every bride deserves the privilege to walk down a church aisle.

A Special Place
If you want to make it a special affair, rather than just a re-enactment of your original wedding, choose an offbeat place. Go for a destination wedding! Elope together to your Honeymoon destination or escape to an Island. Or how about a place that has special meaning to you like your favourite romantic holiday destination. Hire the lounge where you had your first date or how about the restaurant where the proposal happened.

A vow renewal ceremony can be the most perfect way to celebrate the completion of another milestone in your matrimony. It’ll help you cherish those memories and rekindle the fire of romance between the two of you.

Make a bucket list of romantic things that you’d want to do together throughout the year like visiting a particular restaurant, enjoying a balloon flight, visiting Paris, and so on.

Remember the first time you met? Doesn’t the memory bring a smile on your face? Relive your first date, step back in time, turn back the clock, and make your partner feel that your love for her is still as energetic as it was. It’s the best way to woo her and remind her how charming you are. It’ll definitely uncover your romantic side in front of her that was hidden in the garb of daily stresses. And don’t forget that women love men who remember the little details. It will reempha the fact that you love her so much that you still remember every moment you’ve spent together. Take her to the same place or re-enact the same things that sparked up romance on your first date.
Do Something Fun
Do something fun! Get your hearts racing by trying something thrilling together. How about taking them out for ice-skating? It’s the perfect time to support her and cuddle whilst skating on the ice hands-in-hands. You could also visit a local swimming pool to spend some time together. It will not only turn out to be romantic but will rejuvenate your partner for the rest of the day.
Couple Spa
Massage has to be a part of Valentine’s Day. Treat them to a full body massage with scented oils and lotions. It’s the perfect way to pamper them, so make sure to book a couple spa package! Just relax your body, mind, and soul together to get in the mood for the lovey-dovey day. A relaxing massage is just the thing you need, to give her the most invigorating Valentine’s Day ever.
A Getaway
Sometimes the changed surroundings can really spark up romance and love. Think of a romantic getaway, it’ll automatically boost your love life. Plan a weekend away to a romantic destination like London, Paris, or Venice. Spend time alone in your hotel room which will ease the pressure of habitual home life, giving you two a place to run wild. A romantic resort or a hotel offering views of a beach or a river will definitely get her in the mood. May be a getaway is all you need to rediscover love. It’s a perfect way to impress your Valentine. If you have time and money, don’t give it a second thought and just go for it!
The Surprise Party
Ask him/her to meet you at a restaurant to make him think that this is how you’re going to spend your day. Call them to tell that your car broke down and ask to pick you up. And then take them to the venue. Before that make sure that no decorations are visible from outside and lights are turned off. The moment your partner enters, yell “surprise”! And give your guests confetti poppers and noise makers to enhance the “surprise” effect. Invite all the couples you know who you think can show up on that day.
Venue and Decorations
Look for a romantic venue complete with pink ambient lighting and twinkle lights and live music if possible. You can even plan a karaoke for them if you see a hidden rock star. London has plenty of romantic Valentine’s party venues like romantic cruisers with Thames in the backdrop and clubs with pink mood lighting and live music. To enhance the effect, you can decorate the venue with paper heart garlands and under-table lighting to set a romantic scene. And nothing says love better than candles, so make sure to use candles and silver candelabras to create an intimate and romantic setting.
Pop the Question
If you’re planning to ask her to marry you, there’s no better day to pop the question! Valentine’s Day is the day of lovers and it would make the day even more memorable for them. Get down on one knee and propose your love to her in front of everyone in the party (only if you’re sure that she’d say yes). It’ll definitely make her feel special especially in front of friends.
Dance the Night Away
Ask your loved one for a dance. Give cuddling start to a day promising an amorous end. Ask the DJ to play their favourite song and dance the night away with her. If you want to surprise her with something special, how about learning some dance moves beforehand. The unexpected professional moves will definitely sweep her off her feet.

Valentine’s Day is a special day dedicated to lovers, so make sure that you leave no stone unturned to make your spouse feel extra special. Appreciate them for their support, care, and love which you often do not get to do. This is the best day to do just that!
